The packs of hulled barley from Mortegliano contain two-row barley with large grains. The barley is harvested when it is fully ripe, ventilated (but not dried) and cleaned by hand after the harvest. It is vacuum-packed to preserve all of its unique flavour and its irreplaceable nutritional qualities. Barley from Mortegliano is recommended for use in vegetable orzotto, minestrone and other types of soup. It is also an outstanding alternative to rice in many dishes.
